I left Malta with Eddie Fenech Adami, president of Malta. I now return next week with George Abela.
This is the first time that the new president chosen was a member of the opposition (or in some way linked to them). There were a lot of theories written about why this happened, particularly that the party in government wanted to chose him as new president to eliminate him from the ranks of the opposition (since he’s popular). I’m not going to go into any of this (since I have only a very basic understanding of the situation, so what I say would be absolute rubbish probably), but I guess it’s a good thing.
Thanks to Fenech Adami and Good luck to Abela I guess is the way to go!
